Third Quarter 2014 GDP Unrevised at 5.3 percent
(Posted 28 January 2015)

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reports that its estimates for economic growth in the third quarter of 2014 is still at 5.3 percent.  Although there were significant revisions in Trade and Repair and Other Services sectors, the changes were not adequate to affect the preliminary gross domestic product (GDP) estimate made in November 2014.

The Net Primary Income from the Rest of the World was revised downwards from 5.1 percent to 2.2 percent, resulting in the downward revision of the Gross National Income from 8.1 percent to 7.7 percent.  A complete tabulation of the revisions is found below.

The PSA revises its GDP estimates based on a revision policy approved by the former NSCB Executive Board, which is consistent with international standard practices on national accounts revisions.  For more inquiries, please contact with Interim Assistant National Statistician for Macroeconomic Accounts Services Raymundo J. Talento at telephone number 895-2481 or e-mail address
