Revised Q2 2015 higher at 5.8 percent
(Posted 25 November 2015)

The Philippine Statistics Authority reports that the 2015 second quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth was revised upward from 5.6 percent to 5.8 percent.  The top three contributors to the upward revision were: Other Services; Trade and Repair of Motor Vehicles, Motorcycles, Personal and Household Goods; and Construction.

Net Primary Income from the Rest of the World for the second quarter was revised upward from 2.2 percent to 3.6 percent.  This contributed 0.22 percentage point to the upward revision of Gross National Income from 5.0 percent to 5.4 percent.  Please see link below for a complete tabulation of the revisions.

The PSA revises the GDP estimates based on a revision policy approved by the former NSCB Executive Board, which is consistent with international standard practices on national accounts revisions.
